A dream is a wish your heart makes, and my dear friend had a dream to have Disney themed nails. What kind of person would I be if I denied her her heart's wish?! Seriously though, my generation grew up with Disney so I was more an excited to take on this design. I was that seven-year-old in the pool singing "Part of Your World" while I swam, having tea parties with Mrs. Potts and Chip, and running through the woods with a plastic bow and arrow pretending to paint with all the colors of the wind. But honestly, who didn't do that?! Anyway, my friend is going to the most magical place on earth (second only to Hogwarts) for spring break, so Disney nails are more than appropriate. She even came up with the brilliant idea for the silhouettes of the characters. On her right hand I painted silhouettes of Mickey and Minnie on her ring and middle fingers respectively, and did the Disney Castle on her thumb. On her left hand I painted Disney princesses on each finger. From pointer to pinky: Megara from Hercules, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and Jasmine from Aladdin. On her thumb I painted the Disney D.
To actually paint the design I started off how I always do, with a coat of Butter London Nail Foundation. Next I applied two coats of Essie's Mesmerize. For the black silhouettes I used Urban Outfitters' Eyes Wide Shut. For the white castle and D I used Butter London's Cream Tea, with Lady Muck accents. I finished the mani with a coat of SV top coat. Hopefully this little design makes you want to turn on a classic Disney movie or rock out to Hakuna Matata.
