textured tones

My apologies for the hiatus...moving back to school and getting back into the swing of things seriously disrupted my blogging. But GOOD NEWS--im back! I am very excited to present to you the autumn/winter collection from butter LONDON. This fabulous collection is inspired by the rich textures off the A/W2012/2013 catwalks. The tweeds, sequins, satins and velvets of the season translate to the nail polish collection in the form of light holographs, earth tones, and dense glitters.

Trustafarian:
Hands down my favorite shade of the collection. This color is the perfect juxtaposition between "green" and glam. The name for this color--a spoiled rich kid who pretends to be a hippy but goes home to Daddy's mansion on the weekend--says it all with its sage green base and golden holograph glitter.

Shag:
This shade really captures the fall mood. Reminiscent of autumn leaves, this rusty burgundy metallic would be the perfect complement an oversized wooly sweater and some worn leather boots. Personally not my favorite texture, but it got rave reviews from the girls on my floor.

Lovely Jubbly:
If you want a high impact glitter this would be the one. The retro 70's feel of the magenta base and blue, red and gold micro sparkles definitely makes a statement. The application of the polish was actually pretty good considering the density of the sparkles. One to two coats was more than sufficient coverage. This polish is lovely jubbly (excellent for you americans) for sure.

Gobsmacked:
You will leave people gobsmacked wearing this fab polish. This shade is absolutely stunning on, and truely unique with the dark glitter. The pigmented charcoal grey glitter reminded me a little of asphalt in the sunshine--you know with the gravel-like texture that glitters when the sun catches it? ok so maybe thats just me. The only problem I had with this color was that it was very difficult to apply. The density of the polish caused it to clump really easily and I had to keep cleaning off my brush between application. Overall though, it had a fantastic look.

Dodgy Barnett:
This color is a silver grey holograph. It applies quite nicely and reflected light beautifully. Personally I am rather partial to Nails Inc.'s Electric Lane Special Effects polish as far as silver holographs go, but butter's holo is pretty too.

Overall, I would highly recommend this collection, particularly Trustafarian, Lovely Jubbly and Gobsmacked. The collection is future-forward without being futuristic and exemplifies A/W2012/2013 runway trends. Hurry up and get yourself to butterlondon.com, nordstrom, sephora, macys or if you hurry, buy one get one free on ulta.com for the rest of the night!!

cheers loves!
