In honor of the midwest's attempt at an early spring I decided to bring a little color to my nails this week. This design was inspired by two of my favorite trends off the spring 2012 runway: color blocking and sorbet colors. The Ralph Lauren runway show (left) and the Alice + Olivia collection (below) in particular are referenced in my design.
Not only was I excited about these runway trends, but I was excited about getting new nail polish from Butter London's Spring/Summer 2012 collection: Bossy Boots--a soft pistachio green color, Trout Pout--a fun salmon pink, and Slapper--a bright teal color. I first painted my nails with Butter London nail foundation, then a base coat of Bossy Boots. As thrilled as I was about my color blocking plan, I almost left my nails with just Bossy Boots because the color is simply fabulous! Don't you agree?

I figured snapping a picture would suffice and began phase two of my color blocking masterpiece--adding Trout Pout in random vertical and horizontal blocks on each nail. As you can see I tried to mix it up a little on each hand.
After I finished with the pink I added a thin line of Slapper between the green and pink. With a final coat of Butter London topcoat they were finished! My fabulous, ready-for-spring nails!
