polish repeater

For anyone who takes issue with my obsession with butter LONDON polishes, you should appreciate this post. This summer I essentially alternated between two China Glaze shades; one on my fingers and one on my toes. I was on a bit of a neon kick--perfectly acceptable for the summer if you ask me--so Shocking Pink Neon and Flip Flop Fantasy (a bright neon coral not featured in this post) were my go-to varnishes. Not only was I doing something different and sticking to really simple designs and colors all summer, but I completely changed the shape of my nails. As you can probably tell they are basically talons. Side note: my sister (among others) hates them. Honestly I grew rather bored with the square nails and when almond nails became popular, I decided to grow mine out more like that and this is what ended up happening. My sister may not have liked it, and based on the number of contacts I have ripped, my eyes certainly didn't, but I did--so for the time they are staying.

Anyway, for this design I started with one coat of butter LONDON Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat. Next I painted three coats of China Glaze's Shocking Pink Neon polish. The polish is a little thing so three coats is necessary for optimal coverage. Most of the summer I just left it plain, but on this occasion I wanted to do a little something extra so I painted a "V" in a thin line just down from the tip of each nail using China Glaze's Mahogany Magic from the Hunger Games Collection. To finish the look I sealed it with one coat of SV topcoat. Big shout out to my old roommate because I still haven't run out of my birthday supply of SV topcoat she stocked me up on for my 21!
