Lately I have been especially drawn to neons, especially one color in particular--Illamasqua's Rare. For this look i started with one coat of butter LONDON's nail foundation flawless basecoat followed by two coats of butter's Cream Tea. Next I painted the black triangle on the tips of the nails using Union Jack Black. Then using Rare, I filled in the inside triangle. After that I realized that the design was identical to one i did earlier (oops)...check it out here: Summer Lovin'. So to give the look a bit of an upgrade I added some dots down the center of the nail using Rare. One coat of SV topcoat and my bright summer look was complete.
Of course having a younger sister she wants what I have...including my nails. While she was up visiting the other weekend I gave her nails a little neon makeover. For her look we wanted to mix neons and neutrals similar to this post here: Nude vs. Neon. I started with a coat of nail foundation flawless basecoat and then two coats of butter's Tea WIth the Queen. Next I painted an outline around her nails using Rare. We both liked the look of that as is and debated just leaving it there. She decided her nails needed a little more oomph so I painted a design on every nail but her ring finger--which we left with just the outline. What do you think? Are you feeling the neon looks??
