life's a beach

Life on the beach is a pretty good one. Lucky for me I have had a number of days off of work this week so have gotten to spend quite a bit of time at the beach. Other than giving my pasty white irish skin a bit of a summer time glow, I have successfully made it through A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings, which by the way are AMAZING. Seriously though-- read the books, watch the TV series, but I call dibbs on Jon Snow. Anyway, all this time sitting by the lake with sand between my toes inspired me to do some beachy nails.
It required a number of butter polishes and quite a few steps so here we go!

First I started with one coat of butter LONDON's nail foundation flawless basecoat. Next I painted a coat of Artful Dodger for the sky and a coat of Blagger halfway down the nail for the water. Using Cream Tea, I painted little clouds along the top part of the nails. To make the water look a little more like water, I added waves using Artful Dodger, Slapper, and Royal Navy. Using Bumster, I painted a thin strip of polish along the tip of my nails for the sand. To add a little more to my beach scene I added a sailboat on my middle finger using The Old Bill for the frame of the boat and Cream Tea for the sails. I also added some land and grass using British Racing Green for the darker color and Bossy Boots for the lighter green. To finish everything off I painted one coat of SV topcoat. What do you think of my beach ready look?
