let the games begin

Let the games begin! Just when you think the Olympics couldn't get any more awesome, they go ahead and host it in London. What I wouldn't give to be there right now... and trust me I tried. Sadly my pleas of "take me with you, pack me in your suitcase, ill au pair for you!!!" have not worked on any of the Brits I have encountered at work. Anyway, I will be watching the opening ceremonies with a tissue box in hand dreaming of day when I am living in a London flat perhaps bumping into Hugh Grant in Notting Hill or hanging with Prince Harry at Mahiki (you know what I'm talking about Gabby). Until then I will be tuning in to all the action, from my swimming idols--Phelps and Lochte, the hometown hero Jordyn Weiber and the always anticipated camera pans to celebrities and royals.

The Olympics being a glorious occasion, especially in the world's greatest city, definitely required a nail design.For this look I used all butter LONDON products (surprise surprise). I started with a coat of nail foundation flawless basecoat. Next I painted my thumbs white using Cream Tea, my ring finger with Royal Navy, and the remaining fingers with Come to Bed Red. Next using Cream Tea and Come to Bed Red, I painted the Union Jack on my ring finger to honor Great Britain...my future home. Then I painted the Olympic Rings using Royal Navy, Union Jack Black, Come to Bed Red, Cheeky Chops and Dosh and added the year with Union Jack Black. For the remaining fingers, I thought it would be fun to take advantage of butter LONDON's heavy metal olympic themed pack. Using the Full Monty, Diamond Geezer and The Old Bill I painted the the gold, silver and bronze metals respectfully. The Heavy Metal collection will actually be featured on QVC on Tuesday, July 31 at 9 PM EST and is being sold for only 29.75...that basically means you get one fabulous glitter polish for free!  For the ribbon of the medals I used Cream Tea and Royal Navy. To finish everything off I used butter LONDON's Hardware P.D. Topcoat for a nice glossy finish. I'm off now to brew a pot of tea, grab my tissues and enjoy the opening ceremonies! Cheers!
