in a galaxy far far away...

So incase you have been living under a rock, or i suppose in another galaxy, you may not have heard of the galaxy trend in nail design. Seriously it is a supernova of awesomeness. Want to know how to have intergalactic nails like me? There are a number of different variations of the design, and some very indepth tutorials on other blogs and on youtube, but here are the basics of how I did it!

You are going to need a small sponge, a basecoat, topcoat, 1 dark nail polish color, 1 white nail polish and a selection of 5-7 different colors: I used Butter London's Cheeky Chops (yellow), Minger (orange), Fairy Lights (pinky/purple), Artful Dodger (light blue), and Dosh (green). If any of the colors you use have a little iridescence or sparkle to them the better they are!
  1. Apply a base coat to your nails. I use Butter London's Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat.
  2. Apply a dark polish, black or deep purple or blue over all your nails.
  3. Using a small sponge, lightly sponge the first of your 5 or so colors across each nail, making sure to leave places of the dark first coat visible.
  4. Repeat step 3 with each of the different colors you selected, varying the pattern they are sponged in, but maintaining that the dark first coat is untouched in places.
  5. With a nail tool, or a toothpick carefully place small dots of white polish amidst the sponging for the stars.
  6. Apply a top coat.
Look at you, now you have fabulous galaxy nails!
