Blogging virgin no more! I have finally caved to the pressures of the social media world and those of my friends and decided to start my own nail blog. I suppose the nail polish obsession began at a very early age, and my mother is the one to blame. It all started in second grade, when my incredibly creative and artsy mom had the brilliant idea to paint my nails in honor of my class field trip to the planetarium. I remember flashing my nails to anyone who came within 10 feet of me, showing them the nine planets and sun that adorned my ten tiny fingernails. Everyone "oohed" and "aahed" and I was so proud of my fancy nails. I was just itching (i was literally itching, as we later discovered that particular nail polish brand gave me hives... but that is beside the point) to try it out on my own. As most little kids do, I easily was distracted by other things, backstreet boys, hair scrunchies, and barbies, and it took me fourteen years to rediscover my nail obsession. Most of the initial designs i'll post on here are ones I have done in the last year or so, and were inspired by trends or photos I stumbled across online (apologies for not having the proper citing for them). My goal is to post tips and tricks to painting nails, step by steps for specific techniques and designs, reviews of new polishes and my own nail art. Maybe I will even go retro and throw in a planetarium design... Enjoy!
