chain gang

One of the worst things about the end of the year is packing. I hate packing like I hate butter-less popcorn, bugs of all kinds, and the lack of a marauder prequel to Harry Potter. Anyway, as I was sadly ripping down posters and packing up boxes, I stumbled across my inspiration for today's design. Yes, I know I was just inspired by a laptop case, but here I go again. I fell in love with the jewel tones and the chain pattern of my Betsy Johnson case all over again, and decided it would make a cute theme for this week's nails.

To complete this look, I started off with a coat of butter LONDON's nail foundation flawless basecoat. Next I applied one coat of butter's Union Jack Black for the base. To make the chains, I freehand painted the links using Illamasqua's Gamma and Jo'mina for the orange and purple respectively. For the pink stripe I used butter's Snog. Once that was done I finished it all off with a coat of SV topcoat. I was going to add some real chain for a 3D effect, but liked the pattern the way if was and decided to hold off on and save it for another time. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
