blackbird

"blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly"

I did these nails for a friend of mine based off a concept she had in mind for a tattoo. Not only is the meaning behind the design really beautiful, but the simplicity of the concept and classic nature of it made me fall in love with it. The flock of blackbirds in flight was more along the lines of what she wants for her tattoo, but I added the blackbird on the branch for a little variety. For this look we decided to use a really neutral base. After a coat of butter LONDON's nail foundation flawless basecoat I painted two coats of butter's Royal Ballet. Sadly, the discontinued Royal Ballet is fast becoming one of my favorites. After that dried a bit, I painted the blackbirds and branch with butter's Union Jack Black. A coat of SV topcoat, and the look was complete. I know this design is quite simple compared to many I do, but I love the way it turned out. What do you think? Would it make a good tattoo?
Hope you have a lovely week!
