This design has been on my mind for a number of months, but I never got around to executing it...until now! I love experimenting with different textures and have always wondered how exposing the nail by scratching polish off would look. For this particular design, I started (as I always do) with a coat of butter LONDON's Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat. Next I painted two coats of butter LODNON's Bumster--a beautiful opaque ochre yellow, perfect for fall. After waiting about 10 minutes so the polish was semi dry, I took a pin and carved lines into the polish in a basket weave pattern. I used a coat of SV Topcoat to seal the look off and keep a glossy shine. I was pleased with the overall look, but it was difficult to get a consistent texture as the polish was thicker, or more wet in some places rather than others.
What do you think of this technique?
